Jessica Popovic, Director

Jessica Popovic took over Andersonville String Academy in July of 2017 when former teacher, Jon Feller, retired. Previously, Popovic had been on faculty at Northwestern’s Music Academy since 2008 teaching private violin and viola lessons, group lessons, and chamber music. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance and a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University, studying violin with Gerardo Ribiero and served as his graduate assistant. Jessica has received training in the Suzuki Method through the Suzuki Association of the Americas as well as other early childhood education methods. Jessica also freelances in the Chicago land area. She has played professionally in orchestras and chamber groups and also has a special interest in performing with bluegrass and country bands.  Jessica is also on faculty at North Park University and Lake Forest College where she teaches Strings Methods and Pedagogy.
